This arrangement was made by Chris Harten for a small rectangular table on the Stage in the School Hall, where Her Majesty was to sign the Visitors' Book.
Because the table was quite small, only approximately 1m wide by .75m deep, Chris had to keep the arrangement small and compact. It also had to be fairly low, because the table was at the front of the stage, and a tall arrangement would have obscured the view of the proceedings for those people in the audience. She chose a white square container, and the flowers matched the pink, white and gold colour scheme of the two large pedestals placed either side of the stage. The flowers used were Ornithogalum thryrsoides (Chincherinchee), 'Bianca' roses, pink Chamelaucium uncinatum (Geraldton Waxflower), Gypsophila, Hedera colchica (Ivy) berries, and pink Lisianthus. Foliage used was Fatsia japonica variegata (False Castor Oil Plant), Buxus sempervirens (Box), Hedera colchica (Ivy), and some stems of Corylus avellana 'Contorta' (Contorted Hazel). Some small gold Nelumbo nucifera (Lotus) seed heads completed the design. |
