This arrangement was made by Pam Gattas. It was placed in the School Library, where members of the school’s Gambia Committee which runs a 12-year-old link with the Armitage Secondary School in Africa, had put on an exhibition.
Pam decided that a colourful and tropical look was appropriate. She chose a strong polychromatic (multicoloured) colour scheme, using Liatris, deep pink Dendrobiums (Singapore Orchids), pink Gerbera, Strelitzia reginae (Bird of Paradise), Molucella laevis (Bells of Ireland), deep orange Lilies, and assorted exotic foliage including Strelitzia, Cordyline, Codiaeum (Croton), Fatsia japonica, Heuchera 'Palace Purple', and Cyperus alternifolius. The design was finished with the addition of a pineapple, and some colourful red peppers. |
