Our Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be on Thursday 16th May 2013 at 2.15pm, when Jackie Beard will be demonstrating “What’s Next?”. The monthly flower arranging competition will be "Green is the Colour” and there will also be the usual "Flower of the Month" competition.
Visitors are always welcome to join us - £5.00 on the door.
A warm welcome to the Bromsgrove & District Flower Arranging Society website!
We are affiliated to the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies of Great Britain (NAFAS), and are part of the Three Counties and South Wales Area of NAFAS.
We hope you enjoy your browse through our site, and that you will take a minute to sign our guestbook too (at the bottom of this page) - we'd love to hear from you!
Our site contains reports (including a gallery of pictures of the demonstrators’ arrangements) on our monthly flower arranging demonstrations.
We are very proud of the support that our members and committee have given us over the years, enabling us to go from strength to strength, with increased membership year on year. All our meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 2.15 p m, except January (no meeting) and December (2nd Thursday in the month starting at 2.00 p m) at:
ALL SAINTS CHURCH HALL

Members have the opportunity to enter the monthly flower arranging competition, which has a different theme each month. Anyone who enters is entitled to a free raffle ticket, and points are awarded in the novice, intermediate and advanced classes. At the end of the year, the overall winners in each class are awarded a silver cup or salver. There is also a "Flower of the Month" Competition, where Members can enter a flower from their own gardens. There are always some beautiful and often unusual flowers on display.
We have a Sales Table, where members and visitors can buy flower arranging accessories such as floral foam and other items at very reasonable prices, and there is also a very successful Bring and Buy table, where unusual treasures can often be found!
We are a very friendly group, and we do hope you will come and join us for a most enjoyable afternoon. New members and visitors are always made most welcome, (you don't have to live in Bromsgrove!), and of course, we hope you will enjoy your visit enough to want to become a member of the Society!
The Bromsgrove and District Flower Arranging Society will be 55 years old in 2013, and much has changed since its inauguration. The original name of the Society was Bromsgrove and District Flower Arrangement Club, and the annual subscription when the Club began was 15 shillings (75 pence in today's money!!) We became affiliated to the Three Counties and South Wales Area of NAFAS in January 1960.
A selection of our demonstrators’ designs
Each month we have a flower arranging demonstration, and this is followed by tea and biscuits, and a raffle of the beautiful floral designs made by the demonstrator. (You can view a report and pictures of each demonstrator and some of their designs on our programme page.)
It’s our Emerald Anniversary!
Bromsgrove & District Flower Arranging Society is 55 years old this year! We will be celebrating with a special lunch at the Granary Hotel, Shenstone on August 15th. More details later.
Our annual fundraising event will take place on June 13th at All Saints Church Hall. Put it in your diary and please come along to support us - we rely on you! Details will be posted soon.
We are pleased to announce that Bromsgrove & District Flower Arrangement Society has won the Three Counties and South Wales Area “Flower Arranger” silver salver for the biggest increase in orders for the magazine in 2012.
